We're Back!
We've been MIA the past few days because we've been at Disney. We got home late last night, and this photo sums up perfectly how we are all feeling today. We'll try & post more later this week, but for now we are unpacking, recuperating, and getting ready for the last Wed night class of the school year. In the words of Mickey himself, we'll see ya real soon!

Easter Morning
Since we were in TN, we didn't have our tradition of the Sunrise Easter Service, our breakfast with friends, our visit with Bo's parents or finding our Easter baskets after church. Luckily, the Easter bunny found us in our hotel room, so the children had a little bit of tradition that morning! The boys were excited to see what the Bunny had brought them. Here are some pics from the morning...

Planning for Fun
When you're taking an 8+ hour road trip with two very active boys, you have to get a plan. Packing is crazy....we have ditched the suitcases & bags in favor of big Rubbermaid containers. You have to find a hotel room big enough for 4 people to sleep on a bed & a pack-n-play. But most importantly, you have to find ways for the boys to burn off energy.
On the way to TN, we stopped at a new McDonald's with a PlayPlace. The boys ran for about an hour, which was a good break in the middle of the pouring rainstorm we traveled in for hours. Once we arrived in TN, we headed to eat at ChickFilA, again because they had a PlayPlace. We had a good laugh about that, since we could see one of our favorite restaurants (that we don't have at home) from our table at CFA. It's funny how your priorities change once you have kids!
Saturday morning, we had some time to kill before heading to Fayetteville. So we went to The Monkey's Treehouse, which is an awesome indoor playground place. We'd been there once before, and it was a huge success, so we made that a big priority! The boys had a great time playing & running, and we were able to let them burn off some energy. They have trains, slides, push-around vehicles...everything you could ask for in a safe, enclosed space. And that's what we're talking about! We only wish there was a place like that closer to home. It would be an amazing place to spend a rainy afternoon or a cold winter day!

TN Easter
This year, we headed to TN for Easter weekend. Easter Sunday just so happened to fall on Tanner's Grandmother's birthday, so it was decided that we all would make the various drives to be there for the weekend. We had a big family get-together on Saturday, and it was great seeing everyone. The boys got to play with their cousins & have an Easter Egg hunt, while Hayden Kate spent her time with the women. It was a great day, and we hope to visit again for Thanksgiving!
Monday
Nature Center Field Trip
Last week, the 3s classes at MDO went on a field trip to the Nature Center in the state park. They take parents along as chaperones, and Bo was lucky enough to be able to go with them on their adventure. They started at the pier, where they watched people catch fish, saw a beach mouse, and were able to touch a loon that some boys had found. Then, they headed to the Nature Center, where they saw snapping turtles, a one-eyed owl, and a snake. Needless to say, Hampton didn't touch the snake, and Bo ran to the other side of the room. He said it was for picture-taking purposes, but we all know the truth! They finished up with a pizza party before heading back to the bus. Afterwards, Bo took the one-on-one time as a chance to take our big boy for a little ice cream treat. It was a fun-filled day, for sure!
