Just The Stats, M'am

Although Miss Hayden Kate will be 3 months old next week, we wanted to make sure we remembered her 2-month stats from her well baby visit. She was 11 lbs, 8 oz, which put her in the 51st percentile, and she was 22.5" long, which made her be in the 46th percentile. We are so used to the boys being in the 70s or higher, so to us, she's a tiny little thing!

Birthday Fail

Well, yesterday was supposed to be a big day. Tanner's 35th (ahem!) birthday, filled with preplanned activities. Instead, it started with both Bo & Hampton throwing up at 2:30 am, followed by a trip to Walmart at 3am for meds. Instead of partying, we went to the Doctor & took both H2 & H3 to spend the night with P&J since strep (Yes, strep. So fun.) is contagious. Then we grabbed takeout for dinner & both guys were snoring by 6:30. Not the way the day was planned, but it definitely made for a memorable birthday, to say the least!

Here's a pic of the birthday girl & a shot of sick little Hamp, who slept in our bed after puking in it. Don't worry...we did change the sheets!

Monday

Valentine's Day

We love a holiday that's all about showing the love! We had a great day, starting with giving the littles some fun trinkets (and HK a doll...didn't want her to choke on any candy!). We had heart-shaped waffles, then sent Hampton off to his Valentine's Day party at school, and H2 & H3 to Paul & Jan's. After picking Hampton up from MDO, we swapped H1 for HK at the Grandparents' house, and headed to Pensacola for a low-key date night that included the most amazing desert we've had in quite some time! It was a fun, memorable day for all!

Thursday

Harrison

He'll make you crazy, and he will probably end up being the death of Tanner, but man, do we love this boy! Strong-willed doesn't even describe him, he's fast as lightning and stronger than Hampton. When he doesn't want to do something, he says "No! I run away!" and then he does just that. It's infuriating & hilarious all at the same time. One thing's for sure...our middle child will never get lost in the shuffle!

Wednesday

I Could Write A Sonnet

...about her Easter bonnet. But we're really hoping this warm weather stays & her head fills the hat out a little more!

Tuesday

Sick, Sick, Go Away

Last week, Hampton was sick for a few days with a head cold, and even had to miss school on Monday. He was better by Wednesday, though, so we thought we were done. Not the case, though, since Harrison came down with a nastier version of it on Saturday. We ended up taking him to the Doctor yesterday after 3 days of a 102.9 fever. He was a total champ, and very happy to get a pirate sticker for his troubles.

Luckily, it's just some bug & not the flu, but he was still pitiful! He's feeling better today, and we're hoping that the bug is gone for good!

Friday

Happy Love Day!

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.--1 Corinthians 13:4-8

Thursday

Surprise Flowers

Hampton's MDO was surprised by a local nursery yesterday when a truck pulled up with potted tulips for every child to give to their moms. What was extra-awesome was that a local news channel came & videoed it. Hamp & a few of his friends ended up being on 3 showings of the news last night. It was very cute, and Hamp has really enjoyed watching it on the DVR over and over. We snapped this pic yesterday of the tulips before the pretty coral blooms started opening. What a great treat...especially since tulips are Tanner's favorite!

Wednesday

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday

Naps don't happen often around here, so when they do, you have to document them!

Tuesday

Waterlogue

We came across this fun new app that turns your photos into watercolor paintings. It's addictive to play with, especially since you know how much we love pictures! Here are some that we've created...we're wanting to print some out & frame them!

Friday

Cold Days

What are we doing on these super cold days, you ask? We are bundling up in fleece & mittens, which keeps us warm & lets us look like future boxers. We've also pretended to "feed the orangutans" & let H2 eat raisins out of H1's hands. Hey, we call them our little monkeys for a reason!

Thursday

Loads Of Fun

With three kids, the laundry levels have really increased. Put a newborn's clothes with a messy toddler's, and add in a preschooler that gets filthy when he plays. That's lots & lots of dirtiness that needs cleaning! We wash multiple loads daily, and folding is a pain, but we sure do love the littles that these clothes belong to! Plus, it helps to have a cute helper!

Wednesday

Hayden Kate's 2-Month Birthday

Happy 2-Month Birthday to our sweet baby girl! She's an absolute joy...loves to be cuddled & to watch her brothers. She's found her voice, talking & cooing to us, and her big smile lights up a room. She's one long girl, with a very long torso. She's started growing out of her clothes, which is just breaking out hearts that she's getting so big! She's content to sit in her swing, and she can sleep for hours upon hours. It must be so exhausting being so cute! Here are some of our favorite photos from the month...

Monday

An Early Education

The boys love their sister, especially taking to & showing her stuff. We know she just loves hearing about all the planes, trains, and cars! She definitely does like the attention!
