Camping Time

This past weekend was camping on the river with Grandpa & Grannie. Here are a few pics from the fun...

Tuesday

Growing Like A Weed

Hampton has hit a major growth spurt...outgrowing everything from his shoes to his pajamas. Play clothes, church clothes, school clothes...he needs them all! Luckily, we've been able to whip up a few new shirts for school, Grandi has helped us out with some transition stuff for church, and we're hoping to stock up on some play clothes at the consignment sale this week. We are definitely glad that its almost fall & we can make sure everything will be plenty big for our growing boy. We're also thrilled that we have Grandi & a monogramming machine to cute us up for relatively cheap....we'd have to take out a loan otherwise! Ha!

Monday

First Day of School

Today was the big day...Hampton's first day back at school. He was excited to go back, but he also told his daddy that he was "a little nervous", which broke his mommy's heart a little bit. The morning was crazy hectic trying to get out of the house, and not without tears, but by the time we made it to school, everyone was happy & smiling. He proudly showed everyone his water bottle with his name on it whether they wanted to see it or not, and headed straight in to check out all the toys in Mrs. Lisa's room. We're thrilled to have Mrs. Lisa this year...she's the most sought-after teacher at the school, and that's really saying something, since all of them we know are awesome!

Hampton answered all the questions on his 1st Day quiz below, and he even threw in the fact that his favorite baby was Harrison. We came across this school prayer, and we felt it was very fitting for our little monkey this year and every year. Here's to a wonderful, fun-filled school year for Hampton, Mrs. Lisa, his classmates, and us, too!

Friday

MDO Open House

This morning was Open House day at Hampton's Mother's Day Out program. We went to meet his teacher, who we already know & love from church, and get all our paperwork & instructions needed for school next week. We filled out our forms, signed up for snack duty, and volunteered to host the Halloween party again this year. Hampton got to see some of his friends & check out the toys in his new classroom. It's hard to believe that school starts back on Monday, but Hampton is ready & we're all looking forward to another super-fun year!

Thursday

Granddaddy's Birthday

Yesterday was Granddaddy's birthday, so we celebrated with dinner & dessert together last night. Grandi brought travel racetracks to entertain the boys, and they were quite the hit. As was the fundido dip for Hampton..we couldn't keep him out of it! It was a great time celebrating & just spending time together!

Tuesday

Train Tracks

Granddaddy out his woodworking skills to use & built the boys a huge set of tracks that takes up most of their living room. The boys love it, especially since they can both stake out their own little corner of track. Every time we visit, the first thing that happens is track assembly!

Monday

Weekend Washout

This weekend was full of one thing...rain! The system in the gulf stalled out and although it thankfully didn't strengthen into a named storm, we still had all the rain of a tropical system. The SEC Beachfest was rained out, our yard had water halfway up to the house, and we generally just got soaked!

It wasn't a total washout, though. Tanner got to have lunch with her preggie pal Lisa, we got the boys' room painted, and we did get to see the Marc Broussard concert before the rain set in. We have been big fans of his since our TN days, so that was definitely a treat!

Wednesday

2 Peas In A....

Apparently these two have seen our weekend weather forecast & think they need to practice their rowing & sharing skills. Hey, whatever floats their boat!

Tuesday

A Hairy Situation

With school starting back in a couple if weeks, it was time to get Hampton's hair cut. Tanner usually does it, but since we wanted to try a little longer 'do than usual, we decided to head back to a salon. The last time we took him really didn't go well, but Bo needed a cut, too, so he braved it with him.

Luckily, we found out there was no need to worry! Apparently a little time & age was all Hamp needed, because he was a champ! Now that Hampton has mastered the hair cut, we just need to get Harrison on board. It's time to trade in his summertime curls for a cooler weather cut!

Monday

Planes

This weekend was one we'd been looking forward to for a while....the debut of the movie Planes. When we heard about it early last year, we knew that it would be the perfect first movie experience for the boys. The only full-length movies they've ever seen are Cars & Cars 2, so since this was "from the world of Cars", we knew it was the one. We were a little worried when it was being advertised in 3D, because we're against those for littles, but thankfully our theatre was showing in regular, too.

We headed to the Friday matinee with a theatre of other children their age, and we were very pleasantly surprised. Hampton was riveted & did awesome, and Harrison was a champ...although he did need to take a little mid-movie walk with Daddy! The movie itself did not disappoint....it was simple, cute, not scary, and had a great message. We doubt we'll be back until there's another cute, innocent movie released, but it was a great experience & fun for the whole family!

Thursday

Paparazzi Pics

Sometimes we feel like paparazzi, snapping pics of our unknowing subjects while they are still for one second. We may never get rich selling photos of our subjects, but we do think that they're pretty priceless!

Weekend Update

The word of the weekend was SHOP. This weekend was the tax free weekend, so we stayed busy picking up back to school clothes, shoes, diapers, and even stocking up on Christmas gifts thanks to Target's annual 70% off toy sale. We squeezed in a Sams Club stock up & stopped by Sherwin Williams to finalize paint colors for the littles' rooms. We also did some work shopping by going to a regional gift show in Biloxi. Meanwhile, the boys stayed busy playing at the park & water fountains with Paul & Jan.

We will have to say that even though it was a very productive weekend, we're SOOO glad that we don't spend much time shopping like that. It was exhausting & not nearly as much fun as it used to be. That must be what happens when you grow up and find out that the important things in life are not things at all!

Friday

Friday Photo

Some days you just have to pile into Mommy & Daddy's bed with a snack & be mesmerized by Nick Jr!

Thursday

Going Muddin'

This summer has been super soggy here, with rain almost every day since July 4th weekend. The silver lining to this is that it's made for some awesome puddles to jump in! Recently, we were playing at Grandi & Grandaddy's house after one of the many storms. Instead of staying inside, we headed out to the yard & got to splashing! Hampton called the puddles "the slish" and all the trains & cars got a turn sinking into the rain water (helped a bit by the slip & slide). Boys love to make a mess, and we just embrace it....we don't even care if they change into play clothes! It will all come out in the wash, and we're too busy making memories!
