Friday Photo and Week in Review

This has been one fun and busy week! We've celebrated Birthday Eve dinner and Birthday lunch with Grandi, watched the model trains at the train museum, made Mardi Gras masks during story time at the library, been to the park, explored the ChickFilA playplace, played with the neighbors, and more! Whew! This weekend will be busy, too, starting with our playgroup this morning. Hopefully, we'll get to rest a little this weekend, because even though Hampton is really enjoying all the new adventures, his Mommy is a little exhausted!

Thursday

To The Zoo

Hampton got a zoo membership for his birthday, so we try to take advantage of it regularly, even though it's been so cold. Bo took Hamp down there recently for a fun little outing, since it had finally warmed up enough to enjoy it. Usually, we see the lions last, but since they're Hampton's favorite part, they went through the zoo backwards and started with them this time. Luckily, they did, too, because not soon after that, Hampton decided he'd had ENOUGH! But that's the best part about having the passes....you can make a quick trip and then come back anytime you want!

Wednesday

Happy Everything!

Happy Birthday, Grandi! We hope you have a wonderful birthday today!

Also, we hope Uncle John & Aunt Amy have a happy anniversary!

Tuesday

Park Playdate

Last week, we took advantage of the nice weather and planned a park playdate with some friends. With as much planning as went into it, you'd have thought we were planning a state luncheon, but eventually we got there and had fun! It was the first time we'd gone to the Gulf Shores park, and we actually think we like it a little better than our old standby! While we were there, we met some new friends, too, so it was definitely a good time. We've planned another get-together for this week, so it looks like we may have a new hangout!

We're Gonna Party Like It's Your Birthday!

Every birthday should fall on Friday....what a great way to start a weekend! Tanner celebrated hers in style with dinner at a favorite pizza joint (of course...what else would she pick?). We opened gifts, which if you know Tanner, consisted of her favorite things like $1 calculators and a couple of freebies! Tanner usually asks for strange stuff as gifts, like 409 cleaner, so these were right up her alley! On Saturday, we headed out shopping and played at McDs with Hampton. He had his 1st happy meal, but he was not near as interested in it as in playing on all the fun stuff. Sunday we headed to the outlets and scored some great deals for Hampton, then went and grilled out at Bob & Randi's. The only bad thing about the weekend? Somehow, Tanner seemed to miss every single birthday call! She did get everyone's voicemail, though, and they definitely helped make the weekend more special!

A special "birthday" pack of drinks...it took Tanner a minute to realize that's how old she is!

Friday

Happy Birthday, Mommy!

Hip, hip, hooray.......it's Mommy's birthday!
We've already been celebrating Birthday Week with hot fudge cakes, playdates and other fun stuff, but we're planning to extend the celebration throughout the weekend. Bo thinks Tanner claimed last weekend as birthday weekend, too, but who cares? She who has the birthday makes the rules!

Bucket List

What is it with this kid and buckets? He has an obsession with all of his toy containers! Apparently, the new thing is putting them on your head and walking around with them. Of course, he can't see when he does this, so luckily the bucket doubles as a helmet for running into things. It's good to know that such simple things can provide such unlimited entertainment! I guess all of his Christmas gifts will be coming from Rubbermaid this year....hahaha!
