We had such a great Mardi Gras season this year! We made it to 3 parades, & celebrated at home with festive decorations, MG cookies & a homemade cinnamon roll king cake. We had fun with friends & wore our cute MG beads & shirts. It's dangerous work getting all those throws, as shown by our friend Krystal's arm, which got bruised by some wild beads! Even though there were some showers yesterday, we sure didn't let it rain on our parade!

Happy Mardi Gras!!
Schools and businesses (including Bo's) are closed today to celebrate Fat Tuesday. We're spending the day as a family & hitting the parades with friends. We are so lucky to live where "letting the good times roll" is the way of life!
Monday
Caffeine Addict
We don't let the boys have any type of soda. They have no redeeming qualities & unless the Doctor recommends them drinking Sprite (which has happened a couple of times), we just don't think it's appropriate.
However, we are both addicted to Diet Coke (since we don't drink coffee), so the boys see us drinking our "juice" all the time. Harrison has sneakily sampled the soda, and apparently likes it. The other night, we were at Grandi's house, and he picked up a can & spilled it everywhere. He then proceeded to lick it up like a dog until we could get it cleaned up. He now tries to grab at any can he can find! Hopefully we can break his new addiction quickly & then we might start on ours!

Moving Anniversary
Sunday was our 6th anniversary of moving to the beach. Every year, we celebrate by eating pancakes with Tanner's parents, just like we did that first Sunday. Lots of things have changed since that first breakfast, but we are still just as excited as we were that first morning to live in the place we'd always dreamed of moving. As the old saying goes, "if you're lucky enough to live at the beach, then you're lucky enough"!

Catching A Break
Since H1 & H2 weren't really any better over the weekend, we headed to the Doctor's office yesterday.
Harrison was feeling terrible while we were there, screaming & throwing up everywhere (among other things). While checking him over, the Dr. found a lump on his collarbone & ordered X-rays. Several hours, more throwing up, and a few tests later found that it was indeed broken. Great. Unfortunately, there's nothing we can really do for it except let it heal. Of course, every little stumble he makes now makes us catch our breath!
We're still waiting on tests results to see what the boys have. They think it's rotavirus, but we had to take samples at home & deliver them to the lab before we have the results. And since South Baldwin Hospital is about the most inept place on the planet, we actually had to do 2 samples...one that we took there & another that we took to our preferred hospital, Thomas. The only reason we even went to the first hospital for labs is that the test has to be done within 2 hours of the sample being collected, and Thomas is 40 minutes away. We definitely learned our lesson to not cut corners....even our doctors warned us. Next time, we'll listen & make the trek no matter what!

Quotes & Pics
As you know by now, Tanner is in love with Pinterest. It's like Google for anything a girl would need...cooking, crafts, fashion, childrens' activities, holiday ideas and more. One of the things that seem to be all over Pinterest is quotes. Some are hilarious, some are stupid, and lots will make you think. Especially the ones about children. They remind us to be present in the little moments & to cherish the tough parts, because eventually we'll wish for these times back!
